TEP10-248 Sound help please

Hi,

I downloaded the TEP10-248, cab and sounds.
I'm running Open Rails and the sounds are causing a crash. I'm not sure if there is something I should've have done with the .sms files? I just installed with the installer and didn't change any files. Below is taken from the readme, do I need to do anything here? If not, is there any reason why the sounds may be causing a crash? If I remove the sound folder completely there are no crashes.

Edit: I just tried MSTS and everything seems to work ok. The sounds are just not working in Open Rails and cause it to crash.

Move down the "sound detail level" in "options --> Audio".

Thanks, this does fix the problem but you lose almost all the sounds if you move the audio detail from 5 to just 4. The crash seems to happen when you stop the train. I did also try unchecking MSTS Bin compatible sound but that still causes a crash.

Does this happen to other people? I don't understand the other parts of the forum.

I'll try and start removing individual sound files and see if it might be just one that causes the crash.

Ok, found if you remove tsrLoco_te10-eng.sms stops the crashing but then you also lose the exterior sounds. Removing any other file in the sound folder makes no difference, you still get crashes.

You can replace the original SMS file, as I did for myself for almost all TE10 locomotives from this site. There are two ways to do it
1. Enter the path to another SMS file, that not causing a crash in the *.eng . Sounds for M62 locomotive may be the solution. Anyway, it solved the problem for me. Found a path of sound in the *.eng (It is after the block of lights) and change line
Sound ( "../../tsrLoco_TE10-Alias/Sound/tsrLoco_te10-eng.sms" )
to
Sound ( "../../tsrLoco_2M62U-Alias/Sound_3/tsrloco_m62u2-eng.sms" )
All this, of course, if you downloaded the M62...
Otherwise, you need to find another sounds.
2. Also you can to copy some sms strightly to the loco's folder and rename him tsrLoco_te10-eng.sms
Good luck!

vicente,
Thank you! Yes, worked perfectly! I used option 1.
I'm really enjoying Russian trains!

Sorry, I do have one last question if anyone is using the TEP10-248 in Open Rails.
Once the train is moving at a reasonable speed, the cabin door opens and shuts. I haven't found how I can keep the door either open or closed. In MSTS it just stays shut.

vicente, thanks I just read your post but the link wasn't working. I did find a file named "SHAPES_TEP10_19052016.rar"
Is this the correct one? I replaced the files in my "tsrLoco_TEP10-248" folder with the ones in the .rar but the problem is still there. Not sure what I should have done in the .eng file if I did replace with the correct files?
